The principal activity of Howe Robinson is international dry cargo shipbroking. The firm represents Shipowners and Charterers who are based in the UK and overseas. We are renown for our contacts in the Far East - especially China, Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong - but maintain contacts in all parts of the world.

Whilst we seldom advertise vacancies, we usually recruit between one and three graduate trainees a year for our London office. We look for candidates who have imagination and tenacity, an ability to get on with people from a range of backgrounds and a keenly developed commercial sense. Above all, we look for candidates who have particular motivation to enter shipbroking.

Successful applicants will work under the guidance and instruction of experienced brokers and will gradually start talking to clients and conducting negotiations. They will be encouraged to take a spare-time course for the examinations of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and become members of the Baltic Exchange.
